Fall fundraiser
Buy tickets for three raffle baskets from a West Parish fifth-grade family between September 22 and November 5. The drawing is November 7.

A collection of gift cards to local businesses.
🏆 Seller prize: a $50 gift card of their choice goes to the top two sellers in each 5th grade classroom.
Under the proposed sponsor program, businesses could donate a prize at one of the values below. These examples are not confirmed donations.

Upcoming
Event details come from ParentSquare, committee flyers and the PTO. Dates still being arranged are marked TBD; check ParentSquare for updates.
Pizza pre-orders are due October 12: cheese $20 (about 8 slices), gluten-free $24 (about 6 slices). See the committee’s Glow Party flyer to order.
Morning rehearsals start October 14 and 15. The performance date has not been announced. Concessions volunteers will be needed for the play.
Trunk or Treat starts at 5:30 PM in the school parking lot. The Glow Party follows on the back playground and field, with pizza, drinks and glow items for sale to support fifth grade. Children must attend with an adult; school rules apply. Leave peanut-free candy donations in the Candy Monster at school.
Restaurant nights are being discussed, with raffle ticket sales and 10–20% of food sales going to the class. Dates are not yet set.
Bakers and table volunteers are needed. Raffle tickets will be available at the bake sale; the committee will confirm the date.
Ticket sales run September 22 through November 5. Sellers return their tracking sheets with one combined payment.
The committee draws the winners of all three baskets.
A citywide 5th grade team-building and ropes-course trip during school hours. It costs $210 per student, paid separately to Gloucester Public Schools, so it isn’t funded by this drive. Partial scholarships are available through the principal.
Upcoming dates: Nov 4, Dec 9, Jan 6, Feb 3, Mar 10, Apr 7, May 12 and Jun 2. All caregivers and staff are welcome. Attendance carries no volunteer commitment. The 5th Grade Committee meets separately in the library and posts its dates on ParentSquare.
Ways to give
Choose what works for you: a donation, a batch of baked goods, ticket sales or a shift at an event.
Send it to school with your child in an envelope addressed to “5th Grade Committee PTO.” Make checks payable to West Parish PTO.
1 for $10 or 3 for $25, sold by 5th grade families through November 5. Sellers track sales on the back of the green-folder flyer.
The committee needs Boston sports tickets or merchandise, gift cards to Cape Ann businesses, and money for lottery tickets and basket items. Contact the committee to arrange drop-off or pickup.
The committee takes Venmo for donations, ticket payments and pizza pre-orders. Get the official handle from the committee’s ParentSquare post or flyer.
Card donations are not available on this page yet. For now, use the committee’s cash, check or Venmo instructions.
The committee is collecting pledges to donate specific local gift cards for the Taste of Gloucester basket.
School spirit gear is available through the PTO’s Spirit Gear Store. Store purchases support the PTO separately from this fifth-grade drive.
Proposals
The committee asked for backup ideas if the basket raffle falls short. Here are nine proposals for discussion.
Sell themed, nut-free snacks at the play, with a raffle table in the lobby.
Offer local business ads and $10 family messages in the Seussical program.
Display a thank-you board at the Glow Party and play, alongside the proposed sponsor list on this page.
Organize a spring family walk at a Gloucester park, with per-lap or flat pledges collected online.
Offer a month-long restaurant passport. Families collect stamps at participating Cape Ann restaurants, with a portion of sales going to the class.
Share a short guide to checking employer matching-gift programs for donations to West Parish PTO, a registered 501(c)(3).
Sell a 2027 calendar or note cards featuring fifth-grade artwork at the bake sale and online. Use first names only, or leave names off.
Take pre-orders for wreaths and greenery, with pickup at school in early December.
Ask a local photographer to donate a Saturday of 15-minute family sessions on the waterfront, with session fees going to the class.
Volunteer
The committee needs bakers, ticket sellers and help with setup, concessions and cleanup throughout the year.
